QuoteReplyTopic: Im not satisfied, what should I do? Posted: February 23 2006 at 10:20pm
Hi everyone. I hope you take the time to help me out with my situation.
I'm 16 years old and I got a weave done yesterday for the first time and am very disapointed. I have short silky-ish hair that is kind of choppy. I love to change my hair styles, but after a recent hair cut disaster, I am not happy with hair as short as mine. I thought extensions would be a good solution, but the really good quality ones are hundreds of dollars, so I figured i'd settle for weave that is less expensive.
When my weave was done, I wasn't all that crazy about it. Since the braids were kind of thick, the layers of hair around the top of my head are kind of lifted and when I put my head down the lumpy-ness is very uncomforatable.
The hair didn't blend in that well so I look like I have a big head with a kind of mushroom cut around the top and long thin hair at the bottom. My friends and family say it looks fine, but to me it is just not natural looking because of the bumpyness I think everyone's just trying to be nice, but I can't help but notice people stare at my head now...
I'm not sure if they were even put on right because the place I went to only had one woman working there and her supplies were rusty and dirty (I noticed this once she began working) Money is tight these days so I can't afford to get better extensions that are like 500 bucks...
I feel super bad that i'm not happy with what I have since I begged my mom to let me have it done for $60. Should I take them out or leave them in for a few weeks so my mom won't feel as if her money was wasted?

Hey, sorry to hear you're not happy. If your friends and family are saying that it looks good, I'm sure that it does. You are probably just taking time to get used to the change. Give it two weeks and see how you like it after that. Good luck - I hope you grow to love it.
