Leann-

My dress is light blue....more like a periwinkle blue, my hair is sort of thick, straight, but i curl it under w/ a round brush every morning, soemtimes i wear side parts, sometimes i wear parts down the middle, sometimes i do the zigzag part (which i like). So i dunno. My dress has more of a square neck line

Zigzag parts are beautiful - and definetely an idea! Go to www.hairdos.com and search for style 0270. To spice it up a little use a decorative mini-barrett (I've seen plenty of them when I was last in the US)or use some glitter spray matching your make up.
Something more daring are Nubian knots. They are simple to do: you part the very front of your hair into small sections (the bigger the section the bigger the knot) and twist the hair of that section until it rolls up into a lillte knot. Secure with small bobby pin - or some other hair jewelry and do the next one. You can do the full head or just the front.
Ringlet - very small ones are also something you can try. For this I have a URL again http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip473.htm
I think your hair is shorter, but you can try it easily at home to see if you like it. To get small ringlets you want to use straws. Use some setting lotion on each strand, roll hair around the straw and secure end with bobby pin. Let dry completely, undo the straws and define each curly strand with some wax or serum.
Something more simply again is the Elizabethian Braid found here: http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip072.htm. But it depends on how long your hair is, you might not be able to do this.
And last, but not least: http://www.weddinghair.com/images/SH7front.gif

I'm checking this board fairly regular, so just leave a message for me if you need to ask anything.

Good luck.
