QuoteReplyTopic: Searching for unusual headband Posted: March 02 2006 at 12:07am
I purchased the headband I am looking for at a craft show. I need to buy some more but can't find anything that resembles mine.
Here is a description:
18-24 inch of black velvet sewn length wise with a light weight wire inside. Both ends are sewn shut.
I wrap it around my head then twist the two ends together at the front of my head and then make it look like a bow... or I just tuck the ends under the headband.
Do you sew? If so, you could probably make something like that.
It would require a piece of velvet from the scraps bin and two pieces of wire. You'd need a long strip of velvet to fold lengthwise, and then sew two "boning channels" for the wire. Kind of like wired ribbons for holidays
Unfortunately, I don't sew. I don't have a sewing machine either not sure something like this would hold up if done by hand. Thanks for your respnse though!

If you have any information on the person or company you bought it from, you may be able to contact them for more. If you got a receipt for your purchase, the information might be there, or if there's some sort of program for the fair that might list the vendors. . .
I may have come across something. I have ordered two potential headbands. One is a small embroidered sash/belt. I am hoping all I will need to do is insert some wire.
