Well I got a relaxer on Saturday and couldn't wait because I had about 1inch of new growth and thought that would bring me even closer to my APL goal...the night before I am moisturing and I am seeing mass shedding and breakage! I missed my appt for a trim and didn't reschedule I thought what could happen in another couple of weeks well alot can ....and when I went in she said I needed a trim bad and now it doesn't even look as if I made any improvements...I am feeling very discouraged right now...I put my hair in a scarf for 3 days cuz I really didn't even want to touch it lol yeah I was that mad Anyway I guess I am going to put it in braids, I just feel bad because I thought I gave my gave my hair alot of TLC

I hope you feel better about your hair and hopefully it will stop breaking. Have you tried a deep recovery mask?? Also, when was your relaxer before the last one?? I don't know much about relaxers, but maybe it was to soon to relax your hair.

Girl, do I know your pain. I just took my weave (sew-in) out this weekend, and I was like "I'm freakin bald!"  Yeah, my hair is much longer, but long and thin, ain''t cute!  Some say it is common for your hair to be thinner after braids and sew-ins. But, for you and I to correct our problem my dear...I know a lot of people are not huge fans of it, but Aphogee Treatment for Damaged Hair is DA BOMB! Do that about once a month, and I'm sure the shedding and breakage will slow down considerably if not stop! It works for me.

Sorry to hear that - how disappointing for you.  I sometimes wonder if our hair sometimes doesn't want to be disturbed!  I notice that when I pay it a lot of attention it doesn't like it and I get more shedding but if I follow a simple regimen without too much fuss it seems to like that better.   If that follows true for you then maybe braids will work well for you to get that length?

Girl you will be alright. Sometimes when our hair is use to certain maintainence such as getting a trim and we dont, Its like our hair goes crazy. But yeah getting trims are a crucial part of healthy hair and growth..(which was something I had to realize too back in the day LOL) But its better to go ahead and get it done. Otherwise splitends will go right on up the hairshaft and that is NOT good...

Anyways, try doing deep conditioner treatments, hot oil treatments and/or protien treatments like once a week or everyother week to get your hair back strong and minimize the breakage and shedding. Dont feel discourage because its better to correct and baby your hair now then later..believe that . Just remember it doesnt happen over night. Keep your hair moisturized and conditioned, use as less heat as possible, loose ponytails, and just 'baby' your hair!

I'm doing my Aphogee treatment this weekend too!  Be sure to use a moisturizing shampoo before and moisturizing conditioner afterwards.  Come back on Monday and tell us how things went.

I'm sorry this happened to you. By reading your posts, I could tell you were making much progress and also by reading them I know for a fact that you know how to maintain your hair and length.  Just think...this time it will be even better and longer. You can do it!!!
