I don't know the real answer because I'm not a stylist or barber. But I looked on SallyBeauty.com and the biggest they show is an Oster 1.25"

jess...

each number represents 1/8 of an inch, starting from 1.

so...

1 = 1/8"

2 = 1/4"

3 = 3/8"

4 = 1/2"

5 = 5/8"

and so on.  highest number I have seen is #8 (1 inch), but that isn't everywhere.

Jess,

Have them use a 3/4 inch giude on the sides and back and then tapper the sides down. The top should be about one inch Also if you wnat your top to look spiky they can use the texture blade or sisccors. Let me know if you try this.

Mike
