Can I dye my hair again?

OK first of all it sounds like you are dyeing already previously colored hair in an effort to lighten it from a brown color to a blonde color.

Haircoloring will not lighten previously colored hair. I dont know who told you that you could color with a lighter color but whoever told you this is wrong. The most important Law of Color is that color does not lift artificial pigment from previous haircoloring. The end result is that the hair will not lighten and only become darker.

To go blonde now the only procedure would be to bleach the hair blonde. I wouldn't attempt this yourself....bleaching the hair is best left to the pros. I've read posts on here from people who did attempt to bleach themselves and many times they are left with fried overprocessed hair that is severely damaged many times with breakage at or near the scalp.

If you want to tone down that orange you could try some 10 volume developer with some blue based color and make sure it's blue based.....usually that's an ash color and mix in equal parts of shampoo and conditioner with the developer and color and put it on the orange area for 5 minutes then rinse it out. If you hair is a Level 6 or Level 7 then use a Ash in that level to correct the color. It should tone down that brassiness out of your hair and give you a more natural color. Do it on a small test strand of hair then blow dry that hair to observe the color If the results are satisfactory then do it to the rest of the orange areas in your hair. If it toned it down some but not enuff then try it again for 5 more minutes.

I would suggest staying away from the chemical color services for a while or you could end up severely overprocessing your hair or damaging the cuticle layer which would result in a lack of shine in your hair and your hair would become snarly and knotty. That's when you know you've done some serious damage to your hair. Damage can not be repaired it can only be managed via deep conditioning and taking extra special care of your hair to avoid breakage and the drying out of the hair strand until you cut that damaged hair off. Remember hair grows about 1/2" per month so that's only 6" per year on average.
