QuoteReplyTopic: Prom hairstyle confusion, don`t know what to do! Posted: May 08 2002 at 5:55pm
I have shoulder length brown hair with subtle honey colored hightlight. It`s angled in the front, but that`s really about it. I usually get up-do`s for the prom and semi-formals, and I still want to. This year I`m looking for something more tropical. My dress a pretty pink color (geranium if that helps) and the theme of my prom is tropical (duh lol). I would really like something hawaii looking, but I can`t seem to find anything. If anyone has and ideas or pictures it would be great appriciated! Thanks! ~Stacey
Hi, I think I may be able to help you.. how about trying half up,half down style, with lots a curls. To jazz it up try getting a tropical, hawiian looking pink flower to put in your hair too. I hope this information might have given you an idea ot two.... do you think you could help me out too? I need help with my Prom hair aswell... look for my name, "Noreau", it would be greatly appriciated.(My formal is on May 19th... YIKES) Thanx
I like the flower idea....maybe you could pick up a fresh hibiscous just before heading to the salon and have them work it in. Another option--I`ve seen hairsticks with palm trees on the ends at the Limited for putting in an updo. My third suggestion: you`ll probably laugh because this does sound kinda goofy, but I saw in a magazine beach shoot a girl with one of those little umbrellas for drinks placed near the top of a French twist, slightly off to the side. I don`t know how they did it but it looked really cute. I wouldn`t worry too much about having to be strictly tropical though---just have it done in the way that most flatters you and have fun! (They`ll probably "lei" you at the door....so that will add to the effect. :-)

Try styling your hair in loose waves , side parting it, and then pinning back one side behing your ear. Pin a flower on top of that part (fresh or faux) for a very pretty style.
