Hi I am having a little problem. Last night I started to take out my fusion extensions because I am having a different extensionist install a new set this Thursday of Amms Ez fusion tips. Well the Mega hair bonds came out easily with a drop of acetone and the pliers to crush the bonds. I have some hair dreams bonds in also. I cannot get them out!

They are a harder bond. I tried the acetone and pliers and I cant crush them. I then tried amms citrus remover and no luck , then I tried just putting oil on them to see if they would slip out and no luck.

Do any of the professionals on this board know if the hair dreams bonds need something different than acetone to take them out? I am panicking now that I will not be able to get them out before Thursdays new install

Hello Prncezzral, I am sorry to hear you cannot remove the extensions. Did you go back to the stylist that applied them. Be patient, do rip or cut your hair out. Try and stay calm..... I know it is frustrating when you want something done, but try and get back to the person that applied them.

Goodluck

well she is always  booked so thats not an option. I thought i could get them out but did not realize the hair dreams was so hard to get out so I did not make an appointment with her.  I am thinking these bonds must use something else to take them out besides acetone, I just wish I knew what it was

Try alcohol. If hairdreams bond is similar to great lengths alcohol will work.

As Shirilyn said...be patient, stay calm... and do not rip your hair out.

If you have a BevMo (Beverages & More) or a liquor store nearby, pick up some Everclear. It's grain alcohol and also removes bonds with the crunch/pliers method. Before installing the EZ-Fusion, do a test strand on a practice head and remove. I use acetone and they crunch right out but always test first. Good luck!

The things we go through. When it comes to extensions, and as a stylist myself, you have to make time to remove them from your client's hair. Her reputation is on the line. Trust me, there are some slow days  before Thur-Sat. How are the other clients havint their extensions removed? Think about it, we make our money off of repeat clients and word of mouth. I understand that this time of year is booked, but let's get real if I had a client who needed them down I would alter my schedule for a slow day.

Good luck

ill try the alcohol and everclear and see if they work. Thanks for trying to help me. The lady who put them in only works m-f only from 9-3 and she is really busy been doing extensions for 10 yrs. She works out of her home and she is the constantly booked so you have to take off time from work when you have an appt and then schedule a few weeks in advance. I guess people make an appt to get them removed in advance. I just thought i could get them out eaily but I did not realize the hair dreams bonds were so hard to remove. The megahair bonds just slipped out so easy with the acetone and pliers.

Out of all the years I have been in this business, you will always have a slow day or week. You get to the point where you no longer take on new clients, schedule removal of hair weaves for certain days ect. I am not bad mouthing your stylist, I just want you to not loose your hair. You can do hair extensions for all those years and still have no day for removals? How are the clients coming back? I'm sorry I just have a hard time comprehending that.

Thanks for the help ! The alcohol worked. I was able to get them out a lot easier. I did find it easier to break the bond with my hand than with the pliers

With the megahair bonds when they came out  like 10 of my hairs were attached at the top and about 2-3 hairs on every bond had a hair with a bulb at the end. They were thick strands that were tipped with a glue gun not thin pretipped strands like hair dreams. I could not tell if I had any root hairs with the hairdreams bonds since the bond was not in one piece. Does this mean my extensions were to heavy for my head?
