Anyone got any tips for growing out a fringe?
Both me and my 4 year old daughter are trying to do this. We both have waist length hair.
At the moment I part mine in the middle and gel it up to the sides of my head. For everyday wear I wear it in a braid.
My daughters hair is more difficult. I cut it in a fringe at the front when she was a baby (always had loads of hair) and at that time it looked neat and was manageable. Now she is a cute little girl with the most beautiful long auburn hair ever but the fringe is too heavy and starts too far back on her head if you know what I mean, too much hair falls forward for the fringe instead of going down the sides.
As she is little and cute she can wear any number of girly clips etc but they only stay in for 30 seconds then her hair is over her eyes again.
Shes a bit of a tomboy and I keep her hair in braids
most of the time so its out of the way.
I have been tempted to get it cut into a bob so the fringe is resolved quicker but her hair is otherwise so beautiful I cant bring myself to do it. Shes not that keen either but not as bothered as me!
Any suggestions very welcome!

Well, when I was growing out my hair I used head bands. They are nice because they disguise the shortness of the front layers and keeps the hair from falling into the face. Hope you know what I mean by head band.... The horseshoe shaped hair accessory that you place on top of your head! ;-) They come in various styles, but the wide ones are good for disguising the short layers I would say. Hope that helps. :-)

Have sorted out littleuns hair now, with a bit of patience and it looks great. Have cut a fine wispy fringe at the front and the other bits pull back into high braids or pigtails now so its neat and out of the way for play/nursery but she can have it down for parties etc.
It was worth the wait and a bit of patience!
