QuoteReplyTopic: How do I get my hair healthy again Posted: May 05 2006 at 6:29am
My hair has always been dry and thick. I wash my hair atleast a couple times a week and I still feel like it it brittle and dry. I use shampoo design for dry and damaged hair. I also use the leave in conditioner and conditioner that you wash out. I also us a detangler because my hair is curly and it gets tangle everytime I wash it. I am in the process of growing my hair long.
I want to get it back to looking healthy. My hair now looks dull and limpless.
Is there any suggestion you may have I really appreciated it.
I think you should clarify your hair with an apple cider vinegar rinse. It should remove all the mineral deposits, and as much product residue as possible. Take about 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, mix it with 2 cups water, and pour it through your hair after shampooing. Then condition your hair as usual. It should help rule out the possibility of residue, if anything. Whenever my hair feels weird, it's usually because of overapplication of products.
I have very dry and thick hair and I was absolutely desperate to find a product that would soften my hair and make it shiny and managable, i spent an unimaginable amount of money in my quest for the perfect product for my hair and eventually I found it. I always now use Karatase satin bain 2 shampoo, followed by Karatase masquintense for thick hair. These products are pricey but absolutely worth every penny. I wouldn't use anything else now.

Ragdoll, I'm very happy to hear that you are growing your hair again. IMO, long hair makes most women over 40 appear much younger and more sensuous. Oft' times the transformation is earthshaking. Blessings, Bob
