I've been dying my hair a black/blue colour for over 2 years now, and I really feel like it's time for a change.

I've seen a few styles that I like, but the main one I'm after involves dying the hair around the back of my hair and the crown a blonde colour. I've heard that dying your hair from black to blonde is a real pain and very damaging, so my question is, how would I go about dying this area of my hair? (keep in mind I'm only a student so cash isn't exactly flowing :P)

You need to remove the artifical hair dye out by using color remover than add bleach (pray your hair doesn't break) and then put a toner to achive the blonde shade you want.

It is a real pain and it is real damaging,  hopefuly your hair can handle the bleach. If it was virgen dark hair it littterly has to lift 7 shades on up if you want pale blonde. That's a lot of damage for dark hair.Do a strand test to see if your hair can take the bleach best of luck!

i wanted platinum blonde....but the hairstylists told me that i had to have virgin hair.... i also had blueblack hair...

if u just put bleach on ur hair now...im pretty sure the lightest ud get is a orangey color....

i'd say wait until ur hair grows out so it has less damage as possible.

check out my old post... i finally had virgin hair and i went to get it done...i had to go get it processed again a month later cuz it a caramel color the first time around.

I just went through it, and it is hell let me tell ya.  I tried the color remover and it didnt' budge.  Luckily the top part of my hair was the only part with alot of black color ( I wear extensions so the underside isn't dyed that much) but the top part is fried after 2 bleaches and a toner.  It is a great color and with lots of conditioner and shine spray it looks great lol.

I would suggest against it, but if you really want it be prepared for some very damaged hair.

Good luck!!
Wearing 22" 8oz Tease I tips installed with silicone microrings.
