Does anyone know which products i can use to stop hair breakage? Im currently wearing weaves but my natural hair is relaxed, thick at the bottom and fine at the ends and breaks alot when i brush each time. I usually wear my weaves for up to 3 months. once i take out the weaves, i relax the regrowths and steam for 5 hours and apply Palmer's Coconut oil Formula Hair conditioner.

Penetrate by Sebastian is a great reconstructor conditioner, it is protein which stops are slow down breaking of the hair. Its like old school alpogee but ten times better. It get hard under a dryer, and then you have to rinse it out, give yourself a light shampoo and the moisture with a good moisturizer Biolage is a good one.

Motions CPR Treatment has always been a favourite of mines, however, many people complain about the "specs" it has in it, but mines washes out pretty well.

I'm still not getting the big deal with protein treatments. I use conditioners that have protein in it, and that seems to work well for me. I don't have any hair breakage.

Also, my stylist told me that it's best not to do protein treatments, because they make your hair so hard that it often CAUSES breakage. And she said that the protein in conditioners are enough. She only uses protein treatment on my hair after a relaxer.

Tell me if I'm missing something.

Make sure when your wearing your weave that you condition your hair and if you plan on wearing you hair that long remember that shedding is normal so dont panic. For the breakage you might want to try a good deep conditioner that is protein based, especially if your going to relax your hair. Try giving your hair a break, every other 3 months wear your hair loose so that you can concentrate on deep conditions and oil treatments. Leave coconut oil on your hair over night and rinse out the next day.
As for your fine versus thick hair your just going to have to be able to take care of more than one textures with the upmost of care. If your brushing your hair it will be a really good thing if you discontinue this. Brushing of the hair isn't good especially for AA hair. Use a wide tooth comb instead and concentrate on non-manipulation type styles.
Hope I helped you, these tips helped me and hopefully they'll help you.

MY mother bids me bind my hair
With bands of rosy hue,
Tie up my sleeves with ribbons rare,
And lace my bodice blue.
