Toning Brown Hair

A few months ago I had to color strip my hair, and it came out a dark brown that I liked.
 
 However now that color has faded and is pulling orange and is starting to look auburn in some lights, and that I don't like. Also, I have about two inches of dark golden blonde/light brown roots,
 
 
 I know I need something blue to neutralize the orange, but what? A shampoo, a toner ( specific names or brands would be great, as the girls at my local Sally's are less than reliable when it comes to picking products )
 
 Ideally I would like to tone the majority of my hair to blend in with my roots a little better. is there any way to get my dyed that to have a gold tone or is that impossible?
 
 Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Here are two pictures of my hair, they are the best I can get showing the color. The one on the left shows the "pulling orange", the right shows my roots and the dye.
