I was just wondering if anyone`s hair actually grew quicker as a result of taking pre-natal vitamins. If so, how much, and did they make you eat more. If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thanks.
This is a common misconception: prenatal vitamins do NOT make your hair grow faster anymore than taking regular vitamins would. The hormonal changes during pregnancy sometimes make a woman`s hair grow faster. It has nothing to do with taking vitamins, which are simply taken to ensure a healthy mother and child. Here is a link to a site debunking this myth:
actually, I heard it`s the prescription prenatal vitamins that make grow faster. i don`t know though, i`ve never been pregnant so never taken over the counter or prescription ones. i also read some people have had success with Geritol.

I take prenatal vitamins daily. I think they help maintain the health of my hair, but I don`t think they actually help it grow faster. I have a son that is 4 now and when I was pregnent with him my hair did take off like a weed. However, after he was born I lost a lot of hair, I mean A LOT of hair. I had a little bit of a bald area in the corner of my bangs. I think when women are pregnent that hormones have a lot to do with it, not just the vitamins.
