Hey there!
Just looking to find out some more information on these Lumineers. The cost? The process? etc.

If anyone's had these... I'd love to hear what you have to say about them. I'm considering getting them.

I think they are very expensive.  The dentists where I live charge by the tooth and to get my front eight (four bottom, four top) done would have been around 10K.  My girlfriend had it done and one fell off while she was in Tobago on vacation.  That would be freaky.  I also think they don't last forever.  Just like fillings, they eventually have to be replaced.

I haven't had this done yet, but it's definitely tempting, since the idea of veneers without as much tooth surface removal sounds great.

From what I've seen, Lumineers cost between $700 and $1000 per tooth.

They have a 5 year warranty, provided they're cleaned and checked out at the dentist's office every six months and apparently they've been shown to last about 20 years in clinical testing, according the official Lumineers website.

However, one thing I'm not crazy about is that most pictures I've seen of Lumineers, it was too straight, like dentures.  I mean, I understand having straight teeth, but these were too flat across the bottom edge.  Also, since they're thinner and require less of the tooth to be removed they're slightly more limited in how much correction they can make.

I too have been curious about Lumineers or a similar dental veneer system.  I am wondering if this is a viable form of preserving and improving your teeth, without rotting them underneath the formed coating.
Please let us know if you have heard anything about them, or even better if you wear them yourself.  It is quite a large investment but well worth it, if it is a quality product.  Like I always say, " there is just one YOU, so take care of yourself as best as you can!

I looked into lumineers, I went to a very good cosmetic dentist and he told me regular porcelain veneers are much more stronger. He said alot of times with the lumineers the colors are different and look more of a flat color instead of an opaque. Choose your dentist wisely, mine would have made more off the lumineers but he suggested regular veneers and I went for it I had 12 total, 6 upper 6 lower, by teeth are straight very white and natural looking. I paid $10500. Also he told me the Lumineer company will train any dentist and its pretty much a one day course..so that kind of freaked me out.

Thanks to everyone for their input on this question! I appreciate it!
It's too bad cosmetic dentistry is so expensive. I'd love to have either
the lumineers or the regular veneers done. But damn. You've practically
got to take out a loan just to pay for it, the prices are so high!

... Oh well.

Thanks again!

LUMINEERS vary by your area, call 1.877.LUMINEERS to find a dentist in your area, and they can tell you their price. LUMINEERS are amazing, work great and do not add bulk. they are only .03mm thick, and you do not have to grind away your tooth like traditional veneers. (traditional veneers require a MINIMUM of .05mm of your natural healthy sensitive tooth to be ground away!!) as you age your enamel wears away anyhow, so adding a little thickness actually makes your teeth stronger, and look amazing. they cannot chip, stain, or break when they are bonded correctly, so just make sure you use a dentist from the 877 referral line. Each LUMINEERS is made by hand in CA by the lab that invented the porcelain. Do not get fooled by cheap labs that make look alikes, those are the ones that break, chip, fall off and make your smile look bulky. Hope that helps!!

I have Empress veneers and got them in Costa Rica.  The cost was $350 for each tooth.  They are wonderful.  I have always wanted them but the cost in the States was beyond what I could afford.  They wanted $1000-1500 for each tooth.
I have 8 on my upper teeth and 6 on my lower and got a discount for paying cash.  I have had mine for 3 years and they still look the same as the day they were placed.
Veneers in general last about 20 years.
I had to stay for 3 days to complete my smile makeover.  Costa Rica is beautiful so staying was not a problem.
How natural they look depends on how good the dentist is, I went to an excellent dentist and can highly recommend him.

lumineers are as thin as a contact lens, and you dont have to take off alot of your tooth structure to place them, they look great, and they feel real.
