Every time I wash (which is usually every other day), my hair falls out by the handful.  It looks like a small animal is in the shower drain.  It's a wonder I'm not bald!

I never used to shed like this.  I experienced bad shedding after both my kids were born, but now it won't seem to stop.  My hair is very fine and thin to begin with, so I don't want to lose any of what I have.  I don't pull or comb to detangle-my hair is usually tangle-free after conditioning.

It also never seems to grow because the new growth can barely catch up with the fallout.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to decrease shedding?

Thanks!

Hey JerCat. It seems like lots of people are experiencing shedding right now - it may be related to the season.....I control my shedding by taking MSM and using very diluted shampoo or CO. Hope that helps.

Has your diet changed any? Are you at any transitional period for your hormones? Do you have noticeably less hair?

If it worries you, ask your doctor to take a look at your thyroid.

Hi JerCat,

There are two specific supplements which I take and have noticed that fallout lessens with their use:  horsetail herb, and silica.  Of course, i also take a base multi-vit-min, plus other supplements (described in another thread on this board).
