I need support

Yesterday I think I have done the dumbest thing I think I have ever done, I got my hair cut really short; kind of boy short. It's the first time I have ever had my hair cut this short. I did it because my just-above-the-shoulder length hair was cut uneven and the stylist said it would have to be cut short to even it out, but I didn't think it was going to be this short. I have been crying for two days now and everybody keeps telling me "It will grow out" I know it will but I guess I want it to grow out over night. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their short hair stories and let me know how long it took them to grow out, it if it was hard, etc. I sure could use the support.
