The top of my head hurts when i brush it.  What is up with that is it because i brush it to long or what need help.

maybe cause u got yo hair cut atg. cause wen it happened to me my head hurt wen i used to brush. or wen i used to comb it atg and den brush wtg it also used to hurt.

you might have different textures in your hair...and when you brush other spots wit  a pretty hard brush it feels just fine but when you brush the top of yo head it might hurt because the texture is different there

i think it would have to be a sensitive scalp......try a softee...and when your hair grows more you can move up to a medium brush

what brush do are you using. if you are using a hard brush then you should try maybe a medium or a softee.
