long hair for men

Hai . My name is vivek. I have a very long hair , may be upto my waist. It is also quite thick and strong. But most of the people feel that having long hair is girlish and not good for men. But i love to have my hair long. In fact i wear plaits also. I also maintain it properly Is it ok for men to sport plaits ?
