QuoteReplyTopic: Pro-Tac help Posted: July 25 2006 at 3:03pm
I am new to DIY extensions and would appreciate any input on pro-tac. I had GL extensions for 3 months and was not impressed with the quality of the hair (dry, brittle) and the prices are outrageous. I have been viewing this board for a little while now and trying to do my research I considered clip ins but it seems like a hassle to do everyday. That being said...pro-tac seems like an excellent method and fairly non-damaging to the hair. I have fine hair and am looking for length and fullness. My main concern is there are so many hair options out there and I really have no idea what to get. I would like human hair that will match my own. Any tips with the installation are also appreciated. Thanks!

Being blonde our options for good hair are pretty limited. At this point the only recommendation I have is Bohyme. And Wagman Primus, it gets great reviews but I havent tried it yet. Also Extensions Plus gets great reviews and is top of the line. Check out this demo I done with pro-tac. Alot of the ladies develop their own variations to the basic method. Buts its very simple and quite gentle.
There has been alot of very horrible reviews too though, and the customer service is terrible. I was 2 months into working on a VERY LARGE order ( with the intend of repeat business) and they blew me off like my business meant NOTHING! so yeah Im a little jaded...
samples were gorgeous...I agree. And the 2 wefts they sent me were gorgeous.
They do have poor customer service. Infact poor is putting it mildly.
It sounds like they're good if you're doing a small order. Their loss
with your order because I know if you had good luck with their hair you
would rave about it and more people would buy from them.
Their slim weft is tiny but it looks like you can't cut it?
I'm going to wash the samples maybe thirty times to see how it holds up.

actually mailbu, while I was in negotiations with jetset and at the time that all the bad reports started coming about, I was BOMBARDED with emails and PMs from people (some not even regular forum members) that were asking ME to help them becuase they were either having a problem with their jetset hair or the customer service. Some people thought that I might have an inside line ot track and be able to help them get there issues resolved....all I could say was hey...Im sorry, I am not getting any better service than you are....I was able to get some responses on a few customer complaints, but certainly no quicker than anyone else! But I tried!
geez...too bad. It's like self-sabotage.
I didn't realize people had bad luck with the hair. Was this after wearing it several months?
DivaV told me that His and Hers "cuticle" hair has gotten great
reviews. I've had terrible luck with the his and hers pre-tips, I'm
thinking they don't use the cuticle hair for the pre-tips?

I had some of the Jetset in a 613 and it seemed beautiful at first, but after ooo, less than a month it was literally so bad I couldnt even wear it down at all. I'd brush it, and like jeepgirl said. 5 minutes later it was a big mess, so badly tangled I couldnt even get a brush through it, within a few minutes! I wouldn't buy from them again (although I had no problems with customer service)

I checked out Wagman Primus and it seems that you can only buy this hair in 1lb increments or more. Is this true?? What website is the best for boyme??? I am thinking of ordering 613 and 22. To get the colors to blend do I sew the wefts together one ontop of the other before putting on the protac tape? I am sorry for all the questions I just want to do this right

there wont be alot of difference between the #613 and #22 so blending wont be an issue!(those are my colors too) You could sew or LG one weft on top of the other before putting on the protac. Or I just stick one weft on the pro-tac, add a thin line of LG to the track and stick the other weft on and fold the tape over.
