How long will this take to grow?

Hey everyone. Really like the hairstyle Colin Farrell had in the movie Miami Vice and was wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how long it might take to grow something like that. I just got my hair cut fairly short on July 28th. I really want to grow this. Any tips on how to take care of it and style it like that when I did have it that length are welcome too.
 
 
There's a picture. Like I said, my hair is pretty short right now. Just wondering how long it might take.

Thats a nice style.. I wouldn't mind that now that I have seen it :P
 
Anyway, hair grows approx. 6 inches a year.  Looking at the pic, his hair goes back across the head, so I would say thats about 12 inches (or more) to down by his kneck, which equates to about 2 years!

P.S. Also, how short do you mean by "Fairly Short?"?
