Do you think that black companies are really doing justice with the needs of our hair or a disservice? I have noticed that some of the black hair companies are really peddling "snake oil" in a bottle..not even considering that some of the ingredents are more for other folk. How might you the consumer correct these inaccuracies and on a rating system how would these companies fair on a 1-5 scale .5 being extremely bad and 1 being #1 stunna in my book.Other than not buying any more of the product how might you improve the longevity of the business. Lastly do you think that these companies should be discontinued for allegedly using inferior means to get our money.

I don't think that products that are marketed to black consumers are necessarily better for us than the products marketed to everyone else. Remember the bottom line is the $$$. If we can look past the often "ghetto-friendly" packaging and read about the ingredients, we'll find that a lot (NOT all) are really just powerful detergents, waxy or greasy coatings, or the same basic formula in the regular products with mineral oil and petrolatum added. Like one time, I was using this "styling creme" until I looked up the ingredients and found that it was just liquid vinyl. I would lean toward anything that contains natural ingredients, regardless of who makes it.
Most companies are tring to screw us out of our money. They know how we want long hair and would sell us puke in a bottle and someone will buy it. Hair boards like this one have set me strait i only go to the Bss for hair for my braids for hair care products I go to sallys and stand aroud like a weirdo reading each and every label not to mention the fact that if my hair doesnt like it its going right back!!
I think if that's true it's REALLY sad. Especially if the company is black themselves. Being a fellow black person, they should understand first hand how hard it can be for us to grow our hair. White/Asian people mostly don't understand our hair hardship, yet they can show more support? It's sad.

Ha. It is all about money. I don't think they give a hoot, one way or another as long they can make some money in the process.
