hey, how do you find out your hair type? like when people say their hair is 3b or 2a, what are they talking about and how do you find what you are?

hey there, i think....the numbers and colours refer to the colour of your hair (how dark or light it is) and which tones are running through it.
For example: im about a 6-7G which means my hair is light brown-dark blonde with gold tones running through it (the G) i think R is red and there are others.
2 and 3 are dark browns if i remember rightly (10 is lightest blonde) im not sure what the b refers to sorry...im sure someone else will be able to help you :)
Look at some colour swatches in a hair dye colour book and see which colour matches your most accurately. Whatever number that colour is is usually your natural shade (usually lol).
Chances are im wrong and the letters could refer to the type of hair ie: find average thick curly etc

Hey,
The hair typing numbers and letters are referring to how wavy/straight and thick your hair is.
I have seen the legend on this site but I couldn't find it on the search engine.
But...yahoo search found it for me:
