My wife got a perm about 6 months ago and is now ready to go back to the land of straight hair.  Can anyone recommend a good DIY product, or should she make an appointment with a pro?

appt. with a pro definately. if she trys to do this at home, she could end up giving herself a chemical haircut. not  a good idea
learn to love what you were born with
you can do anything if you set your mindto it (just dont try this with hair, that could turn out bad)

If your wifes hair is naturally straight, it will be rather simple. However, it should still be done by a professional. Whenever chemicals are involved, there is loss of protein and moisture, and these must be replaced.

For the results to be their best, and to leave her hair in optimum shape, Pro is the way to go.

Make sure to find someone proficient in these chemical processes.
