I am contemplating going platinum. My hair is very long and all natural dark brunette. I have been told the color will come out well because it is dye free, but I'm terrified that I will end up with a bad blonde or orange. Also wondering how the transition is, having always been dark haired, will going platinum make me feel fatter/thinner, tan/pasty white... Thanks for any advise!!

lol i just went blonde and big mistake, thats just me personally though. Naturally a light brown. How tanned are you? im white and have a pink skin tone so blonde was a no no. It will make your eyes stick out specially if theyre dark, oh and youll have to sort your eyebrows out if theyre dark as well. Might work, might not. Best thing to do would be to post a pic up and let some of the prof peeps on here decide =)

I'd say if you are going to do it, do it gradually. Meaning, lighten it to a medium blonde first. Then maybe next month try a lighter color and so on. That way, it's not such a dramatic change.

Also, what tone is your natural color? Is it warm, cool or neutral? That (along with the tone of blonde you pick) has alot to do with your end result and whether you end up with orange/red tones.

Are you going to a pro? They sure can help you with tones!
