Well since he is 2 that means he is probably developing his regular hair. All you can do is shampoo, rinse, put in a leave-in condition, some hair grease and brush. Most boys are hard to deal with when it comes to hair because they don't want to sit still for the process. I could recommend creme of nature detangling shampoo it helps soften the hair and keep it moisturized. African Pride leave in conditioner. Ultra sheen conditioner and hair dress and a 100% boar brush. If his hair is too tough to handle take him to a barber shop and have them give him close cuts.

Castile soap is really good and it is natural and gentle as well. Trader joes has a really good one that is inexpensive or you could get an unscented one from www.thechemistrystore.com  . Aussie 3 min miracle is a good thick conditioner and jojoba oil would be really good for his scalp or sweet almond oil. Hope this helps. Also use a wide tooth comb to comb.

California Baby shampoo is pretty good.

I use it sometimes since it detangles so well.
