But to answer your question, I prefer waves on a guy than braids.

Are asking about individual braids or cornrows? I love cornrows on a guy because when he takes them out I can play in his hair and it seems like thats a nice spot on guys that they never know about unless the have long hair. I feel the waves are cool if they use a wave cap to get instead of a textruizer.  But it all about how a guy can wear them when it comes down to it.

im talkin bout cornrows. da reason im askin yall cuz im in da middle of growin out my hair own hair and its takin forever, and im wonderin if i should give up and try for some 360 waves

You can try comb coils to help grow it out. but if you can find a good braider to braid your hair when you have about 1 1/2 inch of hair I've seen some girls able to braid hair that short.

aight my hair is a lil under  an inch nd a half when i pull on it but i dont think nobody can braid it tho.  one question wat hair grease/pomade should i use on my hair cuz evrybody is tellin diiferent things

I think I would be telling you something new as well. I think its up to you as far as what your hair needs. If it is real brillo and hard you may want something to make it moist and soft, some African best gro grease maybe good. Or if you already have soft hair and want to just keep it moist you may want to try sta-so-fro mist. It all depends on what your hair needs.

I can't really pick one over the other because I like both.  As far as braids I prefer cornrows over the individual ones.  Definitely not jheri curls though.  I'm picturing Ice Cube in Boyz N' The Hood, lol.....not a good look.
