I hope everyone thats gonna help me knows what psoriasis is....if not, I`ll tell you, Psoriasis is a skin disease, (don`t worry no one can catch it by being around someone with it) anyways, the doctors say its cause mostly by stress, there are others but stress is the biggest one!

Ok now my question, I have shampoo for it because its on my scalp the doctor suggested Polytar, but it STINKS. I only use it on holidays because the smell stays with you for days.
Does ANYONE have psoriasis that can help me, or have a suggestions to what kind of shampoo I can use.
I also have it all over my body, like eyebrow (sometimes also on my cheeks), elbo, knees etc....
PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN!

Hi,

I was thinking of you earlier today. A friend of mine was telling me that her dermatologist just gave her samples of a brand new shampoo that is designed to work at fighting psoriasis. She said that it smells great and not like the medicine smell of her last shampoo.

I asked her to email me the name but so far she hasn`t. I will keep on her and see if we can get you another suggestion.

Best wishes,
Karen

Thanx, Um...I`m trying to find all the shampoos ppl are telling me about and so far no luck!!! I have checked out the salons, but they`re prices are a bit out of my rang, I`m not really in to spending big bucks on a little bottle of shampoo unless I have too!

BUT THANX if you can get the name of the shampoo your friend is talking about I`ld be really happy!

I can`t your neutragena t gel!
I find my psoriasis goes away for awhile when I`m not under stress at all!
Do you massage your scalp when you wash your hair??
Hairstylest massage the scalp when they wash your hair so if you don`t do that maybe you should try.

Hi,

I want you to know that I have been doing lots of research and asking quetions about eczema. Besides calling the dermatologist I went to my local health food store. The owner has been dealing with health foods, herbs and vitamins forever. I talked to him about the problems with the eczema and he recommended flax seed oil supplements. I was a little surprised although I do know that flax seed really helps my hair remain soft and supple and shiny. So I asked him about a million questions and what he told me was that flax seed is great for any type of scalp or skin problems. He recommend that when you have problems with your eczema that you take flax seed oil tablets. He said that each individual person has a different need level and so you will have to experiment with what works best for you. He did suggest that you start out with the recommended dosage on the bottle and then keep adding 1-2 more until you start experiencing loose bowels. Sorry to be so graphic, but no other way to say it. Get the best quality flax seed oil you can...which is usually refrigerated and at the health food store. I have been taking flax seed oil forever and when I stop for even a little while, my skin acts up and my hair gets dry. When I add the flax seed back I see immediate improvement. If you are not already taking flax seed oil you may have to wait 3-4 weeks to see improvements but some people will see improvement in as little as 1-2 weeks.

If you have questions about flax seed oil, please let me know and I will do more research. I am working with a herbalist who told me that she would recommend flax seed oil as well.

She did not think that rubbing on the area would help but that internal would be the best way to take it.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes & Happy Holidays,
Karen

Hi,

You are very very welcome. I am also doing more research on your behalf. So please keep in touch. Actually, I need to thank you, I was doing research on your psoriasis when I came across an article about a drug that is used for the condition. What they have discovered is that the drug (only available by prescription) impacts (negatively) fat soluable vitamins and can actually harm your hair although the drug helps the psoriasis. I am checking further into it and when I get more info I will post for you all to read. :-)

Thank you for all your posts here at HairTalk Princess Daisy. I appreciate your participation, as I do all who speak up and help everyone with hair issues. :-)

Best wishes & Happy Holidays,
Karen
