I just had my haircut to shoulder length this morning. As i`m looking at it, it`s not as short as i would have liked it to be. Is there a way i can make my hair look shorter without getting it cut? I heard if I add more volume to it i can achieve this look but I`m not sure how to go about doing that.

Help!

If you don`t use hair color or have your hair higlighted adding volume, waves or curls will instantly shorten your hair. The reason I mention to beware of hair color is that some volume enhancing products will excelerate hair color loss because it opens and swells the hair cuticle.

I have seem amazing results with volumizing products. Matrix Amplify works great for several of my friends with thin or fine hair and gives them really nice volume.

If you don`t want to go with a full blown volume shampoo and gel like Matrix Amplify you can try a volume spray that you use on freshly shampooed hair. Or you can use a volume lotion. I like Edwin Paul`s volume spray for part of my hair and it is safe on my highlights. I also love Aveda`s Confixer lotion. It works great for adding body and volume and it smells great...at least to me anyway.

If you use a curling iron or hot rollers on your hair that will instantly "shorten" it. Same with waves.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes,
