I'm thinking about buying this but I'm confused. I see a lot of really great reviews for it but I also see some really horrible reviews. They say after a few months that their hair is full of split ends and breakage. I've heard that the pins damage your hair.
If you have it, what do you think of it? Does it cause damage after using it for months?

I've been using my maxiglide for a couple of years and I love it!  It's the best thing I've bought for my hair.  I haven't noticed any excessive splits or breakage because I make sure to use all heat properly.  Any type of heat appliance if used improperly can cause damage.  The maxi is very gentle on my hair I think mostly because it uses steam to help straighten.  The pins don't damage my hair, they really help to make it silky straight all the way to the ends.  If you don't like the pins the iron also comes w/ a flat plate.  I love those pins though.  I give the maxiglide a 10!  I have results in my fotki.

I was gonna get it too but I use my cousins and the comb on it was pulling my hair out so I decided not to. I guess it work best if your hair is not tightly curled.I'm not sure if you could take the combs off but it might work like that.
