Has anyone tried the Garnier ultra lift browns? They are suppose to lighten dark hair up to 3 shades lighter, without any brassiness. Just wondering if it really works.
 
If I tried it, what would I do about my red-ish root area? And would I use the same thing to touch up?

Lifting will make your roots even more red, or even orange or yellow...

Maybe if you just add it to the shaft of your hair...then use a deposit only brown color on your roots?
