Hi,
I have been looking at this forum for awhile and I have been posting on hairextensions101 for a little while. My problem is I can not find hair that matches my natural hair color and I do not want to dye my hair. I have spent a whole lot of money on hair and color rings and dyes but I still can not match my hair. My hair is between a 4 and a 5 on the bohyme color ring. The number 4 is too dark and the number 5 is too lite and both of them have too much red in them. Do you have any suggestions where I could find this color? or is there any places I could send a sample of my hair and they could dye to match?
I am so bummed out I have been trying to do hair extensions for around two months now. I have all the supplies to do protac install I just don't have any hair that matches.
I have the exact same problem as you. Nothing is my exact color & is also too red for me. Have you tried to mix the 2 colors you have? I mix the 4 & 6 and the color is very close to mine. It doesn't have to be an exact match. Mine looks very natural.

I will third that problem! I have found that I have to color the hair if I want an exact match. Honestly though, after the color fades and loses it's initial oomph a bit...and it no longer matches up "perfectly", it still looks good and somehow blends or "comes together" so to speak. You really don't have to have it PERECT for it to look good. Just make sure it's in the same tone family. For example...don't do an ash undertone if you have reddish tones, etc.

Yeah, me too! I usually end up buying lighter, and dying everything to match. But what I think works well, is just buying a few different colors that are slimilar, like 4 and 5, then an ashy tone that will match yours more.
I've found if the colors are close, like I usually get 4 and 6, they blend together really well, and look really natural.
I second all that. My natural color isn't really available in most
brands, so I buy bohyme, lighter than my hair with the same undertone,
and I dye it to match. It looks as close to perfect as it's going to
get and was super easy!

Thanks for the replies, this has been very helpful. If I mix the 4+5 or the 4+6 0r the 4+M4/30 They match kind of close. I may try one of those combos when I get some money together. Or I might try buying either the bohyme or the elite remy gold in a lighter color and dying to match. Before when I tried to dye I tried to do the bleach and dye to virgin indian hair so it was really something I was not able to do. I think if the hair was in a lighter color I could dye it once with a box color and it would be easy.
Also I bought some elite thermofiber in the 5/9 color and It comes close to matching. I think I might try it but I only bought one pack(4 oz.) not sure if I need two or just one.
One question about mixing the bohyme colors how do you do it? Do you just put one weft on top of the other weft?
I typically mix and blend when I can't get an exact match. If 4 is too dark and 5 is too light, usually putting the two together will get you right where you need to be. Instead of holding hair to the side or in the back and looking with a mirror to see if the color is right, I'll drape the hair over the top of the head and let it fall over to the sides in the front to color check.
I agree with what has been said, and I also noticed that despite the fact that the match isn't exatly perfect, after a while the hair seems to blend more with my own hair.
A year ago, I thought I was between 22 and 27, but the color were always too red for me.
Then I figured I needed a match of 14B on top+ 24 and a bit of 16 and it is now very very close to my hair.
