Sportin Waves gold has a better hold. But like i said, it's a matter of preference. If u got thin, fine hair, u prolly like sportin waves black more because its lighter. But if u got thick and course hair, u prolly dig Sportin waves Gold more because it's thicker.

I use the gold can if you go use it don't put it in you hair when its long it makes it even harder to wash out
