Hey!!! I have really fine, thin hair that is about shoulder-length. I have no idea how to style my hair because when i curl it the curls fall out within 15 minutes!! So my hair is completely straight and tangly. I have tried volumizing shampoos and conditioners, but none of these seem to work. Does anybody have any suggestions on how i should style my hair and what type of products to use???? Thanks!!

My advice: a body perm, one that is very gentle will give you temporary volume. Otherwise, I found layers and a good cut, jaw length or above is helpful. I used to use a product called Matrix Essentials Mousette. It texturized fine hair and helped produced volume. It is no longer manufactured, so I am posting a message on these boards to see what else is out there. Good luck!

I have really fine, thin hair too and I don`t think I would recommend any sort of perm. I have NEVER had anything but heartache with perms. They tend to just fry fine hair. Probably a little shorter would be good and keep it trimmed at least every six weeks so your ends don`t look ragged. Layers have always been very bad for me but some of the hairstyles out there now on very fine hair have layers and look great. I have just never been able to deal with them. The best thing for you is a great haircut. Find a really great stylist and see what they recommend. Good luck. This kind of hair is the most difficult to deal with. Simple is best.
