That one magic styling agent...

   I have pretty thick blonde hair. I desperately want my hair to look like this http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a283/LotusM250/1-1.jpg

But I can't for the life of me get my hair to stay stuck straight out in front, it always droops down. Also, the hairs on the front of my head don't grow straight out forward, some of them do but a lot curve one way or another.

I've tried every styling agent possible -- wax, pomade, gel, gum, putty, freeze spray, hair glue, and more. I've tried blowdrying the tips up to try to make them stay there, i've put the gels in dry and damp and wet hair, and no luck.

What I thought might work is if I got a hair straightener, maybe that would make the hairs the don't do straight forward do so? Like put wax in my hair then straighten it out in front. What i'm asking is, would the straightener idea work? And are there any styling agents out there that will truly let you do whatever you want with your hair?
