black hair - want to add some fun

I always manage to get into trouble at salons when I bring in my picture & my ideas and they say "No, but I Can do this" without thinking I do it... And end up hating it.
So this is my plan
My hair is black, salon black (not drugstore black ) & i want to add a burgundy blob at the top side.
Would it be possible to lift/bleach my hair to a color that burgundy can go over in one sitting?

And how would be the best way to describe this to the hairdresser?

Yes most def. go somewhere else if they won't do it. I've always had this problem with salons that's why I tend to do my own hair. They tend to treat me like an idiot and make me feel stupid if I suggest anything. But bring in the pictures and describe it to them and don't back down.... or go somewhere else. It's your right to do what they please. You don't go to a clothing store, say you want to buy a shirt and the sales person says, "oh no that won't look good on you." and they don't sell it to you....
