Long to buzzed? (Picture)

 

Anyways, I've had long hair for about two years now and I think it might be time for a change. Ive considered doing short styles, maybe spikey or shorter but still shaggy. The problem is my hair is very straight and thin, and though I might be able to make it look ok if I styled it with products and crap, that's not really my thing. I like my hair to be low maintenance, currently I just towel dry my long hair and go.

 

So that kinda lead me to the logical idea of buzzing it really short or maybe even shaving it all off. It would be really easy, but I dunno if I could pull off the buzzed or bald look. Here is a picture:

 

 

It's a bit shorter now then in that picture, but it doesn't really matter cause its still alot of hair to shave off either way! I live in Jersey where its fairly cold in the winter, so I dunno if I should wait or not... Bah tough decision! All your help is greatly appreciated!
