whats ur thoughts on coloring hair that has been bleached and now has very uneven color varying from pale blonde to golden blonde? is it safe to color over it? what kind of dye would u recomend (semi, demi, permanent)?

i've done the same thing....feb of this year my hair was platinum (from years of using frosting kits)....i gradually added darker and more lowlights using demi permanent color ( i used the loreal color gems brand from sally beauty supply)...the first few times i used porosity control first and then used a light golden blonde shade of the color gems.....it does fade out after 3 or 4 weeks, and so each month i added a darker shade (now im up to adding light golden brown and some lowlights of light red)....now that i am using darker colors i use a gold protein filler, and sometimes a red protein filler (bought at sally's)...it's been much easier to not deal with roots and my hair is a lot shininer and healthier!
i'm no pro, this is just what has worked for me, i had been bleached platinum for several years, and it can be a shock to just go dark overnight, so i used a light hand and just added more and more until i got it where i like it

I've been every shade of blonde imaginable... my hair usually was many shades at one time, (due to highlights and low lights and just the way my hair dyes...) and I went Dark overnight twice... Black and Brown each time.
If you go dark, it's easy, but if you are putting a darker blonde over the blonde, it'll still show shades. The lighter parts may suck more color and go darker then the darker parts... if you want one solid color, you'd have to go pretty dark.

You can dye pretty much any color over what you have, but again the colors will vary.

Getting lowlights helps with darking your blonde and giving it a little more balance if that's what you want. :)

I'd have to agree with Nursie (who has beautiful hair) :)  but I have a question for you---how did you get those beautiful curls?

Thanks and please post a photo of the after.  I think your hair is really pretty as is but I'm considering going darker too (planning to try Elumen)...

Hiya

About a week after I bleached my hair (it went cream/white from dark brown) I went to Boots  (UK only!) and bought a box of Botanics Permanent Hair Colour in Medium Blonde.  It says to leave on for 20 mins, but I only left on for 8-9 mins and the blonde had darkened just very subtley and it looked great :D

Good Luck!

Mark.
