I normally dye my hair at home with color brilliance cream color to a light blonde.  However, I always had this sort of brassiness color at the top.  I went to a beauty supply today and the lady there reccomended that I use a Joico Vera Color high lift ash blonde color, and then she gave me shimmering lights shampoo for blonde and silver hair.  Are these products good?  Has anyone used them before?  Thanx in advance.

all the purrple (ash) is what you want to get rid of brassiness.  You might need to bleach because even high-lift doesn't always lift you enough...

shimmer lights is also highly recommended on Makeupalley although the smell of it is pretty bad

Shimmer Lights out to work fine -- I don't care for the smell either. I use Jhirmack for "silver" hair -- works for blondes too. I also use a purple conditioner and a rinse -- that's a triple threat that does the job! Gets my hair JUST how I like it!
