I started taking viviscal along with another vitamin for hair & nails. I decided that instead of taking just 2 viviscal a day I would take 3. I've been taking it for about 2 months now. I got a relaxer 5 weeks ago. Since then my hair has grown a lot, so much that I had to get a relaxer just 5 weeks after my last one when it's usually 2 months in between relaxers for me. I decided to go to an upscale salon that my friend keeps telling me about. After my relaxer the Stylist assistant blew my hair out and I was amazed at how much longer my hair was. When the stylist was ready for me she told me that I needed a trim. I said fine. She cut so much of my hair off! She cut my hair shorter than it's been in a long time. Then I had to pay 95 dollars for this! I'm so mad I honestly want to cry. On top of that when she asked me how I wanted it styled I told her that I just wanted it pin straight, she didn't listen at all! She curled it I'm assuming so that I wouldn't notice how much she cut off. I knew she cut more than just a trim when I swung my head around and my hair felt really light. I know it'll grow back pretty fast especially since I'm taking the viviscal but I'm still really upset. She ruined my weekend.
Prissy, I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you! I know alot of long haired women that have gotten their hair chopped by stylists. If she doesn't do what you request, don't pay her!! And make a complaint to the salon manager. She should not get $95 for acting so unprofessional.
I too am very sorry this happened to you. Trying a new stylist is always a scary prospect especially when you are on the healthy tip. Some stylists just do not comprehend the concept of "trimming". At least you have a good attitude about it and you know that your hair will grow back.
That sucks! I know I've been there many times. Have you considered self-trimming? Thats what I do. That way you're in control. When a stylist tells me I need a trim I just say no thank you, go home and check my hair to see if it really does need a trim. In most cases it doesn't but when it does I'll just trim what it needs and be done with it. You got to understand alot of stylist want to leave a mark with hair styling. They'll style your hair the way they think it should look instead of what you ask for just cause they're the stylist and they think they know better. Thats why a stylist you trust is so important.
Gosh, I could go on and on about this subject...
There is a site that tells you how to trim your hair yourself. I have to find it then I'll post for you. In the meantime, don't be sad. It WILL grow back and this time even healthier than before.
