Hi:

I was hoping someone could help with choosing the right perm product for my hair (professional). I would like to walk into the salon and tell them what to use, instead of them picking what they want to use. I have very fine and dry hair. Ever since I had my daughter, it is now also naturally curly when cut in layers, which it used to be poker straight. I got a perm about a year ago, and it lasted about a month and fell out. My hair used to hold a perm until it was all cut out. What perm solution would be good to use that would not burn up my hair, but hold the curl. Opticurl burns my hair, and ISO is the one that only lasted a month. Thanks for any info.

You should go to a hair salon and get them to do an elasticity and porosity test.
Only after this test is done, you can choose the right  perm for your hair.

Hi I agree with Kospa, let the salon decide. A few reasons why you hair isnt holding onto the curl of the perm, could be down to medication you may be on. Even using conditioner on the hair before a perm can effect the hair, or it could be your hair is resistent to certain perming lotions. I would  tell the salon that your last perm only held for a moth, if they are any good at their job, they would do a consultation with you before hand.
