Hi, since about 3 to 4 months ago, I've been using Nizoral to help me get rid of oily dandruff (unfortunately without successOuch) and I've noticed that my hair has got thinner since I started using it, not in the sense that it looks less dense but each hair strand feels weaker.. can it be the nizoral that is damaging my hair?

I don't know about Nizoral, I haven't had any experience with it.  But most dandruff shampoos are pretty harsh.  They should not be used every time you wash your hair.  Of course, if it's not helping, there's no reason to continue using it.  Here's what I like to do... http://hairbraider.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!A674357A1D0F3116!304.entry (scroll down to recipe 5 & 6)

All I know is that when DW used Nizoral for lice, (Yes, they once said it helped. It does not!) it left her hair looking and feeling awful and dry. I hate the stuff. Best Wishes, Bob

Nizoral is antifungal medication, so if your dandruff is caused by a fungus or yeast, a dilute apple cider vinegar rinse done last after you wash and condition should help readjust your scalp.
