Need info on some old hairstyles

  I am writing a paper on my mother for my English class. Back in the mid- 70's she used to wear her hair in what I thought was a Bouffant or Beehive style. All I know is she used a lot of rollers and she teased it until she had it high on the top of her head. It's kind of hard to explain. What I need to know is the proper way to fix these styles of hair and if any one knows whether what I described about my mother relates to them.
