What are the absolutely best "you`ve gotta try this stuff" for fine hair?

I hope some people can help me with this. I`m kind of tired of experimenting (also spending $) with stuff that doesn`t work, or, works for about a week and then stops.
I have fine hair (but not very fine---not baby-fine), I get foil blonde hi-lights done every 8 weeks or so, and my hair is medium to long in length (with some layers). I do the dry velcro-roller thing for volume and use lots of hair spray to hold (Sebastian`s Shaper Plus--the best!). What styling products can I use to give me the extra boost I need sometimes? I`ve tried a few of the root lifters (none worked well) except for what I`ve currently tried which is Herbal Essences root volume (worked fairly well), however, if I distribute it throughout entire hair, it can weigh it down, etc. Anything in a particular product line, or perhaps an entire line, that I should be using? Is there a "magic" product out there that I can count on for fine hair (especially when you don`t have a lot of time to work on your hair sometimes)? Thanks in advance!!!
