Just wondering what others experiences are with permanent colours on curly hair. I was a bit inexperienced and so every 3 months I coloured all over my hair (it suggested that in the instructions) I didnt know you were only ment to touch up roots. Each time I coloured my curls dropped straighter until after the 4th (and last) time it went dry/straight. Now I am terrified to colour. How do you do yours, how often do you refresh the colour and how damaging is it. I am currently going to the hairdresser but cant keep that up as its too expensive.

You need to only put it in your newgrowth.  This way you are not over processing your hair and you are only coloring the new hair each time.

If you have much fadage you can pull it thru to your ends with about 5 or 10 mins left.  Doing this should blend it all.   Yes I do.  My naturel color is a dark blonde.  So I highlight the top and color the bottom with a light brown.
