QuoteReplyTopic: Longest fence sitter here, but finally installed Posted: February 26 2007 at 5:53pm
Just decided last night to just DO IT. I had the hair, protac, combs, etc ready but was still debating about the whole thing. So this morning I washed and didn't condition and just decided to bite the bullet. If you don't believe how LONG I've been on this fence, check out my join date by my icon LOL
ANYWAY, the protac was fussiner than I thought it would be. I'd purchased the roll and the white paper is NOT on both sides so that made it even more difficult to work with. On the other hand, getting the wefts prepared was not that bad, it was just getting my fine hair to make even parts and not get hung up with some cross hairs that made it take all day (except for a 2 hour break I took to have lunch with my mom).
So...I'm just ambivalent about the whole thing It feels very heavy on my head even though I only installed 4 oz total. The color (27) looks a little too dull in my hair and a bit brownish whereas mine is brighter, bit more copperish though I knew that was going to be the case because I tried a different color at the salon this month. I don't know. It isn't cut in yet, my mom is coming over tonight to help me with that so maybe that will really perk me up. I also still am not sure how to get the curls in there without damaging my own (my natural hair is like 15"). I will try my Caruso rollers tomorrow with the ionic steam to see if that works.
Unfortunately I did not buy remover right away so unless I really want to soak in conditioner, I'm not sure I can get the tapes out right now so I'll probably wait at least a day or so to remove if I decide I really don't like them. I don't know.
Hmmm...wish I had a more successful successful install LOL but at least I did DO it!
Thanks for all the help along the way and all of those demos :)

I get that heavy feeling at first too, it takes about 2-3 days till it feels "normal" ...what kind of hair did you use? You could go buy some Non-ammonia hair dye, or some semi-permanent dye and try to blend them just a little (thats what I always did) We'd all love to see pictures!
hmm, couldn't take it, soaking in conditioner now. The top tape showing was just too much for me. I think I will like clipons better though so at least I have the wefts cut the way they should go so once they are out I can sew them to clips and then curl them off head and install for special occasions, though they still need to get cut.

I understand how you feel, there are certain times where I just want to rip mine out - when my head starts to feel heavy, or my hair keeps getting caught behind my back on chairs or in coats and things like that. It sounds like clip-ins will work better for you :) there a little less intense and you can build a whole collection of them and change it everyday!
