Ok, after having talked for a while of the good results I get by using both a tape and LG to do the top rows I thought I would post some pictures of that so show you guys...
For the top rows I cut a piece of tape of about 1/2 inch wide and the length of the weft I want to install.
I put the weft on top of the tape, so that NO tape is showing at all from the top. Then I put a layer of Liquid Gold on the handtied weft on the top part.
Then I pull a layer of my own hair on top of the Liquid Gold bond, it makes my own hair totally blend to the weft color (because my roots are a little darker than the weft color that I put it), and my own hair that is stuck there also hides the handtied weft.
Be sure to keep a layer of free natural hair, that is going to come above the layer of your own hair that is glued to the Liquid Gold.
The result is very natural, and I can go as high as 1/2 an inch from my part line.
So here are the pictures of the "hidden" weft, when I have pulled out all the hair that isn't stuck to the Liquig Gold line (it's basically what people can see if the wind is blowing like crazy in my face!! Laughing ):

another one with my "free hair" pulled aside:

and then pics of my hair with the loose hair above the hair+LG bond (the way I look if the wind isn't blowing!)

You don't have to cut off the wefts like that! Especially if you work with handtied wefts !

frenchie, are you just basically sandwiching the wefts, but only using LG on the top right?

For me the 'makeshift' seamless wefts lay flatter. I double my wefts on the tape with with LG. I use the 1/2 inch tape add LG with another piece of tape over the top. Then I cut off the weft and cut the tape strip in half so its only about 1/4 inch wide. The bond/seam is really small.

No I think my little technique is different Sherrie.
I use single weft only for my top rows, I don't double the wefts.
I cut a piece of tape of 1/2 an inch wide that I stick under the handtied weft, so no tape shows on top of the weft.
And then to hide the tiny handtied weft and to allow it to blend to my own hair color, I put a layer of Liquid Gold on top of the handtied weft and stick a layer of my own hair on it. And then I need a layer of free hair to come above.

So it it (from bellow): - a narrow piece of tape only under the weft
                                  - the handtied weft above the tape
                                  - A line of Liquid Gold on the weft
                                  - A layer of my own hair on the liquid Gold bond
                                  - A layer of "free" hair above it

ok...so Id like to try this method....But im super confused...lol..i tried the protac strips before from AMM..but I didnt know u could cut them in half like height wise...i was just cutting them to the length of the weft that I wanted....I was doubling the weft too...so it would be 2 wefts of hair on the strip...and I was thinking after I had them in...man this feels weird cuz like the tap was tehre or whatever....hahaha man i feel silly I didnt know you could cut them... :-)
Ok...so let me get this straight so I can try again!! hahaha
Cut the strip the length of the weft you want...and then u can cut it to either 1/4 or 1/2 inch(height wise)??
But where do you apply the LG?? Because when i had in them in before...i had them for a week and washed once and they came out...i was like man this sucks lol....Ive had glued in wefts before...So i know to put hair in between rows and what not...Just not sure where to put the LG and stuff... Thanks ladies!!!! :-)
