QuoteReplyTopic: VERY DISAPPOINTED IN GREAT LENGTHS Posted: March 05 2007 at 3:15pm
I had Great Lengths extentions put in- $1500 total. From week one they have been coming out- i run myhand thru the hair(i have had extentions before), 3-4 came out fine that can happen, but it is up to 3-4 a day now. Crappy extentions, they are put in the same way SOcap USA is put in- just small bundles.
NOT WORTH IT.

Maybe there's something in your routine that's not right for this kind of extensions I would see your stylist and show her, at this price, you should get a good "customer service"!
I can't believe you paid 1500 dollars, that is so much $$, in France, that's all there is pretty much though!
i can only assume you did your reseach before you had the stylist install them, and also checked her work and references. I would expect if anyone of my clients had a problem, they would come to me first and let me trouble shoot to see why they are shedding so much and also put those back in that have come out- if she is any reputable liscensed, certified stylist, i am sure you will be well taken care of.
i go WAY out of my way to insure each and every one of my clients are not only happy, but LOVING their install and hair.
I'd talk to the stylist. If she's reputable, she fix the problem.
I am redoing (and re-buying new hair out of my own pocket) for two clients this week for which I installed the D-lux fusion hair. That hair sheds terrible, I'll never use it again.
Oh yeah i did my research, i found the Great Lengths is used my the ''stars" etc. The average price for them is $1500 and higher depending on the salon etc, based on other chat board and forums for extentions.
The stylist had her "license" or certificate whatever you call it displayed. At this point i am over the extentions. I cannot wait for the rest to come out, i will NEVER do this again.
did you ever go back to the stylist that put them in to show her how many you had lost? i do my own extensions, but i think MOST professionals out there WANT to make things right for all their clients....with it costing so much if i were you i would at least TRY to have her do something to make me satisfied

i have not gone back, im so upset and just plan disappointed its unreal. Nothing she could say or do would make it ok to me- i would be upset to put morein and upset to take them out. I know i should contact her but at this point since there is no 'pleasing' me why bother........ ugh
I don't think it's fair that you are not giving the stylist an opportunity to fix the problem. I understand the disappointment and frustration, but in general GL is a decent product, and many people are very happy with them, when installed correctly.
So, if she redid it all for free, that would not please you? If so, perhaps you are better off not wearing extensions, since you may be one of those people who will never be happy.
Great Lengths hair is good quality, but EVERYONE I talk to and see has a horrible installation. I don't understand how they have to get certified and then they suck putting them in. I'd tell her she did a bad job putting them in, so you don't want her to again, and get your money back.
Metal girl, I had the same experience with the dlux hair and I had to buy so much hair out of my own money b/c the hair was sooooooo sh*t*y and my clients were so mad. It suck so bad.
leducred please don't let this put you off extensions, there are so many different methods about that one will definitely suit you. Why don't you buy some hair and get a friend to protac you some in. Do you like your hair with extensions in? Sometimes when you haven't worn extensions before you could be doing something wrong that's simple that you aren't aware of that's making them come out. I understand that you're angry and upset, a lot of people feel that way when their first experience is a bad one but when you get a good set in you'll absolutely love them and your confidence in them will be restored xxx
thanks amanda. I am honstly over extentions now- for a bit, once the rest come out ill give it a rest and maybe try it on my own in the late summer.
metalgirl- may i ask how can you make the assumption of im not happy w/my hair no matter what? Its called great disappointment. This is my 2nd round of extentions which i have loved. But disappointed that they come out easily- but to my findings and talking w/others maybe its that myhair is not 'thick' to begin with and more babyfine.
i brushed my hair last night w/my extention brush and about 6more came out. ugh. oh well. The end will come soon.
I do not have alot of hair sticking out the ends of the extentions, I do not have spots missing or bald spots(thankgoodness) its almost as the glue is just letting go(ok not glue but wax)-like its just breaking free-
Yes metal girl in this situation for me there is nothign she could for me. I dont want them to be fixed- as in more added in or redone. I do not want to go back to her- as im not impressed w/her. So ill let it go- and as they come out they come out and ill move on.
I'll look into the clip ones in a couple of months- i am just 'done' w/extentions for now that is all- tired of it etc. Need a break(2nd round of extentions i have had).

well all the extentions are out. They more or less cameout on their own. It was down to the 20 which were in rather well still but didnt look right being in,looked like i was attempting the 80's rat tail or mullet. YIKES! So i just played w/the bonds till i could just glide the bond down and out.
Felt weird in the shower this morning I do have to admit
Is it possible that my hair is too fine and that with a little playing they come out? It is keratin or wax that was onthe ends and attached to my own hair.
