i've been bleaching my hair for a few months now and its time for my roots to be done. i still haven't acheived the platinum shade i want its a pale yellow shade and the underneath is darker with some golden tones. I want to bleach my whole head to remove some of the golden tones but my hair is already is pretty bad condition and breaking alot. Should i just use a toner? or should i ask my hair dresser to fix it? Helpp! xx

hair currently: is slightly more yellow than this but its the most recent i have.

Your color looks awesome already! If its too yellow try blue orchid shampoo from Art Tech (I thinks that's the name of the blue one?) I also hear that people love shimmer lights which you can get at Sally's.

Do you use extensions? Your hair looks alot healthier than you say? Big%20smile

Try a purple shampoo or a purple toner.  Test it first to find the right amount of time before you do yout entire head.  It might turn your hair purple/grayish if left on too long.  Your hair looks cute though. :)   For dried out hair, I use Joico K-pak conditioner everyday, and then the reconstructor once a week.  There are some other good tretments also, but I just don't have the money for it.

thanks alot, i've used some expensive reconstructors which didn't help much :| Ah trust me everytime i brush it my hair falls out in clumps. Nope no extensions i've got natural waist length hair, just scared i'm going to have a good few inches cut off to get rid of the damage. Thanks for the tips i'll take a trip to sallys soon, and look for a good shampoo or purple toner. I'll update you on how it goes :)

Goodness! I've been having my long hair bleached to blonde for over six years now and it's in great condition. I've never had a problem. There have been a couple of times where I THOUGHT it was breaking but my stylist reassured me it wasn't. Anyway, I wonder why yours is in such terrible shape. I've also got very fine hair which is the most fragile hair of all. Are you going over and over your WHOLE head with the bleach? (That'll do it.)

I think your color looks good too. I was having issues with my shade as well and I use Jhirmack shampoo for "silver" hair (it's purple) and a purple conditioner AND Fanciful brand rinse in "White Minx" -- that combination is what got rid of all that nasty brass and made me LOVE my hair. (I also get a toner at the salon but those only last a couple of weeks.) It sounds like a lot of hassle but it's really not at all. That Fanciful stuff is what makes it!

Regarding the reconstructors not working: My thoughts are that it probably SEEMS like they're not doing anything but if you didn't do any deep conditioning AT ALL, you'd see that they DO work. You'd see a real difference in your hair. I do a deep conditioning treatment with a hot towel once a week. Plus, I use TONS of product in my hair (leave-in conditioners) and comb it out very carefully so I don't damage it.

Plus it keeps the color from fading & it makes the color bright if u have blonde hair.It cuts out yellow also.U can order it online or get it at Trade Secert at the mall.By the way I'm not gay, when i said that about u.I just saw u & reacted that way.Anyways, good luck!!
