Well, I just did 2inch blue tips on my hair...and I so do not like itDead! See, my natural hair color is black and the blue tips turned out to be a blue black and it blends in somewhat and it looks funny. So, I was wondering what I should do to get rid of it. The dye is this 27 shampoo wash out stuff, but I had to bleach my hair to even get it on! I was thinking dye it back my natural color, but then I've heard color doesn’t take color and that the tips would still look odd. Then I thought let the dye wash out, but then would that bring the bleach back that I had to use in the first place? And if so wouldn't the tips still look funny if I dyed them back? Okay, well thanks for the help...and if no one can think of a solution, then I guess I could cut them out...but then my hair would be about chin length :( and then I'd have no hair for prom in MayCry. Errrrrr....thanks!

noooo dont just cut them out before trying a few things......you can:
1. shampoo, a LOT of times, with a harsh detergent shampoo....Prell, or even dishwashing liquid.....then when/if that has removed the blue use a demi permanent color on those bleached tips (test a piece first) and use a protein filler before you apply color

or

2. use colorfix (bought at sally's) to remove the blue, by applying just to the color you want to remove....then proceed with the protein filler followed by demipermanent color on the ends

and then use a very moisturizing conditioner to baby it

You Can apply colourfix, or use a bleach bath, a little bleach powder, 20 vol of peroxide, warm water and shampoo, mix together and apply to the ends of the blue, massage through the ends very quickly no longer than 3 mins, rinse off and shampoo and condition. You will need to add in a red filler, as you have striped the red from your hair by bleaching, we call it pre-pigmenting. You can use a semi or temp colour for this. Then apply the black and develop. I know its quite a long proccess, but if you want to keep your length for the prom it will be worth it. Good Luck.

I have colored my hair since I was 12 & Im 31.I always put color on color. If I were u.I'd try the darkest brown color u can get & dye it.The reason I don't say black. Is cuz color is atleast 1 or 2 shades darker anyways. So, it will turn black if u get darkest brown. Now, do u wanna dye your hair all over?Cuz I would not dye just the ends. That might look funny cuz it would be a little different than your hair color. The only colors I wouldn't do color on color with is blonde to red. That would turn pink.I have heard that color on color won't work, but why has it worked for me since I was 12? If u don't feel safe doing this all over color. Then I'd get a color deposting shampoo called Art Tec color. It adds color only to the hair shaft.Which is safe for any hair type. I'd tell the hair dresser what u did to your hair & ask them what color u should get. That way it will look natural again.Since u have black hair, u should get the color for black hair. Good Luck!
